‘Tension Toh Auction Mein…’ PBKS Take A Cheeky Dig At Rishabh Pant After Win Over LSG
Punjab Kings trolled Rishabh Pant with a savage ‘auction’ remark after the Shreyas Iyer-led side defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) comprehensively.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a dominant eight-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash on April 1 (Wednesday), with captain Shreyas Iyer leading the charge with a second consecutive half-century. For the Rishabh Pant-led LSG, it came as their second loss in three matches so far in the tournament. After the win, PBKS celebrated Iyer's performance on social media while also taking a dig at LSG skipper Rishabh Pant.
PBKS shared a cheeky post on X (formerly Twitter) taking a jibe at Pant for something he had said after the 2025 mega auctions. Notably, after being bought for ₹27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Pant had expressed relief at not being picked by Punjab Kings. With PBKS entering the auction with the largest purse, many expected them to bid for Pant. However, they chose to go for Shreyas Iyer instead, securing him for ₹26.75 crore.
