KL Rahul Surpasses Dhoni, Kohli To Enter Elite Six-Hitters List During GT vs DC IPL 2025 Match

KL Rahul surpasses MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to enter an elite six-hitters list in the IPL, achieving the feat during the GT vs DC match.

Star wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul attained an iconic record as he surpassed the likes of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to now sit atop an elite six-hitters list. KL Rahul became the fastest Indian batter to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He attained the record during the Gujarat Titans (GT) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match of the IPL 2025 season at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 19 (Saturday). Notably, Rahul also became the sixth Indian batter to hit 200 IPL sixes and 11th overall.

The 32-year-old Bengaluru-born right-hander needed just one six in the GT vs DC IPL 2025 clash in Ahmedabad to reach the 200 IPL sixes milestone. He accomplished the feat in style by launching an 89-metre maximum off Mohammed Siraj on the third ball of the third over.

Rahul came in at number three and made a quickfire 28 off just 14 balls. He looked in complete control from the outset, playing fluently, before Prasidh Krishna managed to dismiss him.

Rahul achieved the 200 sixes milestone in just 129 innings, surpassing Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, who previously held the record with 159 innings. Legendary figures MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli occupy the third and fourth spots, having reached the landmark in 165 and 180 innings, respectively.
