LSG vs DC: Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on April 22 (Tuesday) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants have already faced once this season, with DC having edged out LSG by one wicket in their previous clash in Vizag. DC, currently second on the IPL points table with five wins from seven matches, are coming off a loss to Gujarat Titans despite scoring 203. Meanwhile, LSG are fifth with 10 points after a dramatic last-over win against Rajasthan Royals, where Avesh Khan defended nine runs and claimed three wickets in the final over.

Pant: Definitely (would have bowled first). The way this wicket is playing, it stops a bit in the first innings and as the game goes on, it gets better and better. Hand is okay. (Things to keep in mind while batting first) It's going to be on the slower side, but gradually it gets better and better as you keep on batting. So not losing too many wickets, that's the only thing to keep in mind. We don't think about what's happening around us. We are playing with the same team.

Axar: We'll bowl. Red soil wicket and there was dew in the last game as well. We focussed on what we did right and improve areas where we erred. We aren't thinking too much. Impact Player - we decide based on the situation. Mohit Sharma is out, Chameera is playing.
