DC vs KKR LIVE

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of match 28 of IPL 2023. It will be the Delhi Capitals taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders in this fixture coming your way live from the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Background

Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in match number 28 of IPL 2023. While Delhi find themselves at the bottom of the points table and have just not been able to get going, having faced losses in each of their five matches so far, Kolkata have 2 wins and 3 defeats from their five matches and are at the seventh place on the points table.

The good thing is that at least the Delhi captain David Warner hasn't given up hope for the remainder of the season. He has gone on record saying how in the past teams from similar situations have gone on to secure a place in the Playoffs and in some cases even life the trophy. Having said that, it would be a difficult thing to walk the talk and actually change the result with quote a few things not working for them this season including the strike rate at which Warner has batted.

To make matters worse for them, a few of their players have lost their bats in the transit which is unncessary chaos really, especially for a team which has to deal with cricketing headaches already. Delhi's bowling hasn't been too good but it is their batters who have been an out and out flop with Warner and Prithvi Shaw making one of the most terrible opening pairs of the season.

Kolkata too haven't been too successful in that aspect. But at least they have a couple of batters in Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh in form with Nitish Rana also having a good half-century behind his back. The rest of the setup needs to step up like their pacers. Their spinners have been their best department.

All in all, this looks set to be a cracker jacker of a game.

Possible Starting XIs:

Delhi Capitals: David Warner (captain), Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Yash Dhull, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav, Aman Khan, Abishek Porel (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje

Kolkata Knight Riders:  Jason Roy/Rahmanullah Gurbaz, N Jagadeesan (wicketkeeper), Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana (captain), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Chakaravarthy
