Cancelled IPL 2025 Games To Be Played In September: Sources

Cancelled IPL 2025 matches are expected to resume in September later this year.

The IPL 2025 matches, which were called off due to escalating India-Pakistan border crisis, are expected to resume in September later this year.

Asia Cup 2025, scheduled for September 2025, might get canceled due to same reason. The tournament features teams from across Asia, including India and Pakistan. However, given the current geopolitical tensions, the chances of these two nations participating in any sporting event together are virtually zero.

With India and Sri Lanka as the joint hosts of Asia Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may consider rescheduling IPL to coincide with this period.

IPL 2025 suspended amid IND-PAK conflict

BCCI on Friday (May 9) made the big decision to suspend the remaining matches of IPL 2025 amid India-Pakistan border conflict.

On Thursday evening, drone attacks launched by Pakistan on several Indian cities led to the cancellation of Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala. Following the indefinite suspension of IPL, BCCI's current focus is on facilitating the safe return of foreign players. New dates for the remaining matches are expected to be announced soon.

The Indian team is set to tour England from June 20 to August 4, 2025, for a five-match Test series against the hosts.

India is expected to depart for England in the first week of June. Following the England tour, the team will then head to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series from August 17 to 23, and a three-match T20 series from August 26 to 31.

If Asia Cup 2025 gets canceled, there are no India matches scheduled for the September window. After the conclusion of the Bangladesh tour, India will face the West Indies in a two-match Test series, beginning on October 2. Before IND-WI Test series, BCCI has a window to complete the remaining IPL 2025 matches.
