DJ Bravo is the all-time leading wicket-taker for CSK in IPL, and is currently serving as KKR's Mentor. Moeen Ali, on the other hand, is a part of KKR's 2025 squad, and has previously won IPL with CSK.
Speaking after the match, Ajinkya Rahane stated that the side was assited by DJ Bravo and Moeen Ali, due to their familiarity with the conditions, and that, his side will now focus on winning the games consistently.
Here's What Ajinkya Rahane Said
Ajinkya Rahane (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain):
"We had our plans you know. I've played here for more than 2 years, Moeen knows the conditions and DJ (Bravo) knows it too. Frankly, I thought the wicket would play better but it didn't play the way we thought. We had our plans and it worked really well for us tonight. (On what were the plans made against CSK) Still a long way to go in the tournament. So, I don't want to share too many things."
"(On playing Moeen Ali in place of Johnson) I mean in the end, it looked spot on for us. I thought the wicket would play better. It was a 170-180 wicket. I don't want to take any credit away from the bowlers. Moeen was brilliant. One game he is playing and in the next game, he is not. The way he has showed character is just amazing to see. He bowled really well. Sunny and Varun bowled brilliantly too. They dominated the middle overs for us. Really happy with Vaibhav and Harshit. They executed their plans as well."
"Yes, my batting is working out now. I am trying to keep it simple and I have worked really hard since the last two years in terms of my batting in this format. It's going well for me. (On the NRR) Initially when we started, there was no discussion about the NRR. After the 6th over, we thought about it. We thought if we can finish off the game early then we will have a massive boost in our NRR."
"This is a format in which sometimes you play good cricket and sometimes you don't. Last game it was a tough loss for us. Sometimes you learn from them. I am really happy as the boys are working really hard. Now, we want to win every game rather than winning alternative games."
