Legendary manager Arsene Wenger (now retired) once said on an on-air show that 'Anfield-legs' are one of the most heated fixtures across all of Europe, and Tottenham Hotspurs did learn this fact the hard way, as goals from Cody Gakpo (34'); Mohammad Salah (51'); Dominik Szoboszlai (75'); and Virgil Van Dijk (80') sealed the deal for Reds.

Liverpool Captain Reflects On 'Wembley Return' After Sensational Win
Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk is elated after his side's impressive win in the EFL Cup 2024-25 semi-final, and has stated that he will 'once again lead the boys in the final'. It was Virgil Van Dijk's goal that gifted the side the EFL Cup title, as his 118th minute winner vs Chelsea handed Liverpool a 1-0 win.
"I will lead the boys in the best possible way. I'm always proud to be leading out the boys. These occasions are obviously special and we're really looking forward to it. When the time is there, we will be ready. It will be a difficult game, but any game that we play at the moment is difficult. We have to keep going and let's see what it brings," said Virgil Van Dijk.
"(On Cody Gakpo) He's doing very well. I am proud of him. We need him in the best shape of his life. Hopefully he can become even better but he's doing so well, like the other boys. It's a big credit to him and the rest of the boys," he added.
