WI Vs BAN: West Indies have announced their 16-man squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, as the Caribbeans aim to continue their impressive form in white-ball cricket.
West Indies hammered Bangladesh in the ODI series by handing them a 3-0 whitewash, and have now registered their 6th win in last 7 ODIs.
The former World champions endured a forgettable tour of Sri Lanka, where they lost both T20I and ODI series, but bounced back with ODI series victory against England.
However, T20I's are a major concern for them, as the were whitewashed by England recently, and would like to avoid the same against Bangladesh, who are themselves struggling for form in the T20I's.
Shai Hope and herfane Rutherford have been handed rest for the series, as the Rovman Powell-led side will be without few of their ODI stars.
"He has shown us that he could be a batter in that format, and playing against Bangladesh, a team we cannot take for granted, we need all hands-on deck. The squad was carefully selected with the players available to us, and I believe this is our most settled squad with the experience needed to win championships," said Daren Sammy, West Indies coach.
