Washington Sundar, India’s off-spinning all-rounder, is set to continue to feature in team’s 11 for the upcoming India vs Australia day-night Test in Adelaide. As per a report, veteran India players Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, in all likelihood, will remain sidelined for the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. India won the series opener in Perth by a record margin of 295 runs and are leading the series by 1-0.
According to a TOI report, a reliable BCCI source stated that there’s a 90% chance that Sundar will feature in the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

India preferred Washington Sundar over Jadeja and Ashwin in the Perth Test which surprised many. Sundar registered figures of 0-1 & 2-48 with the ball and scored 4 & 29. The 25-year-old put up an all-round performance in India’s pink-ball tour match against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra on November 30, scoring an unbeaten 42 and taking 1/38.

Coming to the India vs Australia 1st Test of the BGT, India handed Australia their biggest-ever Test defeat at home against the Indians. Australia lost the match by a massive 295-run margin.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India got all out for just 150 runs, credits to Josh Hazlewood’s four-fer. In response, India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah delivered one of the most sensational fast-bowling spells to rattle the Aussie batting lineup for just 104 runs. He claimed five wickets for 30 runs.
In their second innings, India posted a strong 487-6 with help of hundred from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli.
Australia responded with some fight but could not get anywhere close to India’s total as they were bundled out for 238 runs.
