Vinod Kambli, currently recuperating in a Thane hospital after facing a major health scare, set social media ablaze with an energetic dance to ‘Chak De India’ from his hospital room. Suffering serious health concerns, the 52-year-old former India cricketer was hospitalised on December 21 after experiencing urinary infection and muscle cramps. However, medical tests later revealed brain clots, raising further concerns about his well-being.
Kambli garnered attention in the Indian cricket community with a rare public appearance at the unveiling of his childhood cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial at Shivaji Park last month, where he also reunited with his childhood friend, Sachin Tendulkar.

Earlier, Dr. Vivek Dwivedi, Kambli's doctor, shared concerning updates about the former Indian cricketer’s health, revealing the presence of clots in his brain.
"We admitted him on Saturday evening. He was experiencing muscle cramps and dizziness at home... He had a high-grade fever when we brought him to the hospital and difficulty walking due to muscle cramps. On investigation, we found that he had a urine infection, and sodium and potassium deficiency which were causing muscle cramps. A brain scan revealed that he had old clots because he had suffered a stroke recently. We admitted him to the ICU because he also had low BP... His vitals are stable but his treatment and physiotherapy are ongoing. We are planning to discharge him in 2-3 days," Dr. Dwivedi told ANI.
Kambli, who was a left-handed batter, scored 2,477 runs in 104 ODIs with two centuries and accumulated 1,084 runs in 17 Test matches, with four centuries to his name.
