Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been re-appointed as the chairperson of the ICC men's cricket committee. The former Indian captain is joined by his longtime teammate VVS Laxman, who has been picked again as one the panel members, the game's global governing body said on Sunday.

Ganguly, who led the Indian team with distinction for five years from 2000 to 2005, was first appointed as the committee's chair in 2021. Ganguly had replaced compatriot Anil Kumble, who stepped down after serving a maximum of three, three-year terms.

Apart from Ganguly and Laxman, former Afghanistan player Hamid Hassan, West Indies batting great Desmond Haynes, South Africa's Test and ODI skipper Temba Bavuma, and ex-England batter Jonathan Trott were appointed to the committee.

The official comfirmation of the decision is made by ICC on Sunday, and the panel members will consist the likes of Hamid Hassan (former Afghanistan cricketer), Desmond Haynes (West Indies legend), Temba Bavuma (South Africa’s current Test and ODI captain), and former England batsman Jonathan Trott, who is currently serving as the head coach of Afghanistan Cricket Team.

Major Changes In Women's Cricket Committee

The apex insititution for cricket all over the globe have seen a major shake-up in the Women's cricket as well, as former New Zealand off-spinner Catherine Campbell has been appointed as the Chair, and will be joined by the likes of Avril Fahey (former Australian cricketer) and Pholetsi Moseki (Current CEO of Cricket South Africa).
