Ranji Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, And Three Other Stars Set For Ranji Trophy Action

Ranji Trophy: Several Indian cricket legends, including Sunil Gavaskar and Gautam Gambhir, have long advocated for the importance of domestic cricket.

Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, also part of India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, are set to feature in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting on January 23. Participating in domestic cricket will help these star players regain form and fine-tune their skills ahead of the international tournament.

Several Indian cricket legends, including Sunil Gavaskar and Gautam Gambhir, have long advocated for the importance of domestic cricket, emphasizing that players, regardless of their seniority or reputation, should remain connected to the domestic circuit. These calls have gained renewed attention following India's consecutive home series defeats against New Zealand and Australia.

Have at look at the five big names who will represent their respective domestic teams in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season:

Rohit Sharma: Indian captain Rohit Sharma is making a rare appearance in domestic cricket, offering him a chance to sharpen his game. He will play for Mumbai in the second phase of Ranji Trophy under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: After his impressive performances in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal will represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Still early in his career, Jaiswal remains a regular in domestic cricket.

Rishabh Pant: Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will turn out for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. Despite being offered the captaincy, Pant chose to focus solely on his performance and will play under Ayush Badoni's captaincy.

Ravindra Jadeja: Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will feature for Saurashtra in their Ranji Trophy clash against Delhi on January 23. Jadeja's participation not only strengthens Saurashtra's lineup but also ensures he stays match-ready for upcoming challenges.

Shubman Gill: Struggling with form lately, Shubman Gill is set to represent Punjab in the Ranji Trophy. Dropped from the playing XI during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Gill will aim to rediscover his touch as he prepares to partner Rohit Sharma at the top of the order in ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
