South Africa are making their maiden appearance in the WTC Final, as their previous two campaigns saw them finish 6th and 3rd respectively. A huge challenge awaits the Proteas, who stand a chance of lifting their maiden major silverware for a 2nd time within the past 12 months.

South Africa came agonisingly close on winning the T20 World Cup 2024, but their horrendous run-chase effort in the last phase of the match handed India their first ICC trophy in 11 years.

Australia look completely clear off South Africa on-paper, but in cricket, anything can happen on a given day.

The pace attack consists of Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi. Wiaan Mulder will assist the bowling department with his medium pace, and can be promoted to number 3 in the batting order.

Keshav Maharaj, Tristan Stubbs, and Aiden Markram are present in the side as spin options, and the latter will be opening the innings alongside Ryan Rickelton, who is coming off a decent IPL season with Mumbai Indians.

Kyle Verreynne will be on the keeping duties behind the stumps, as South Africa aim at creating history at Lord's.

Dane Patterson misses out on selection alongside Tony de Zorzi, Senuran Muthusamy, and Corbin Bosch, as Temba Bavuma's men will be fielding a strong XI against the Mighty Aussies.
