Kane Williamson, Matthew Potts Combine For Bizarre Dismissal During NZ Vs ENG, 3rd Test | WATCH
NZ Vs ENG: Kane Williamson produced a bizarre mode of dismissal during the 3rd Test, and the video has now gone viral. WATCH.
NZ Vs ENG: Kane Williamson's resilient knock of 44 came to an abrupt end, as the Kiwi legend departed via a bizarre mode of dismissal off Matthew Potts' bowling. The incident occured during the 59th over, when Kane Williamson managed to knick an inside edge on the good length delivery, which took a couple of bounces and rolled over the stumps.
However, the bizarre moment was when the former New Zealand captain realised that the ball will hit the stumps, and in an impulsive reaction, he, instead of deflecting the ball away, ended up toe-poking the ball towards the stumps, and the bails fell off.
The 2021 World Test champion was visibly gutted and distraught with the manner of his dismissal, and ultimately, his wicket meant the collapse of New Zealand's batting order, as they went from 185/3 to 303/9.

New Zealand Are 315/9 At Stumps, Day 1
New Zealand were off to a sensational start, as openers Tom Latham and Will Young managed to pile up a 100-run+ stand for the first wicket. The top order, which had so far heavily failed in the ongoing Test series, managed to get good starts, but none of the Top 3 managed to convert their starts into triple figures.
The middle-order collapsed and New Zealand were reeling at 231/7, before Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee played blinders to guide the hosts beyond the 300-run mark.
Mitchell Santner stays unbeaten on the score of 50, and with him will be William O' Rourkee, as the duo will carry the overnight score of 315/9 on Day 2, with the home side aiming at avoiding a series whitewash at the hands of England.
Matthew Potts and Gus Atkinson scalped 3 wickets-each, and were well-complemented by Brydon Carse and captain Ben Stokes, as all four English bowlers managed to open their account for wickets at the Seddon Park.
