India's ODI Record At Narendra Modi Stadium: Here's What Happened Last Time India Played Here
Ahead of the 3rd ODI between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium, let's have a look at the ODI Record of team India at the venue. Read below.

India are on the verge of completing a historic ODI series clean sweep over England, as the side currently leads the 2025 ODI bilateral series 2-0. Rohit Sharma announced his return to the form with a scintillating ton in Cuttack, and the hitman will be looking to join the likes of MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin as the India skipper with an ODI series whitewash over England.
The 3rd and final ODI of the series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and India do have a brilliant record at the venue (in 50-overs format). Out of the 5 ODI's India have played in Ahmedabad (since the reconstruction and renaming of the venue), the side managed to win 4 and lose 1, thereby boasting a record of 80% win rate.
India Suffered 'Final Heartbreak' Last Time They Played Here
However, the last time India played an ODI at the venue, a 'certain' Pat Cummins 'silenced' the crowd, as Australia stunned India in a one-sided affair to win the ICC Men's ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. India, who were on a sublime run in the tournament, were only one win away from registering arguably the most consistent and dominant ODI World Cup campaign in history, as no other side had managed to win 11 games at a single edition.
India's group stage ended with 9 wins out of 9 matches, and won the semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against New Zealand to avenge their 2019 semi-final defeat, and make into their 4th ODI World Cup Final.
Australia, on the other hand, were recording a campaign of a lifetime, as the record-time champions had their back against the wall, and were a subject to defying odds in-order to make into the Final.
After losing their first two games, Australia were bottom of the table, and feared elimination from the group stage. The 'Kangaroos' were reeling at 91/7 against Afghanistan, before a 'one-legged' Glenn Maxwell smashed an iconic unbeaten 201* to register arguably the most famous win in Cricket's history.
A tough semi-final win over South Africa granted them a slot in the Final, and they faced the unbeaten, in-form Indian side led by Rohit Sharma.
What happened in the Final was painful for Indian fans to watch, as not only Australia decimated India on all fronts, but also managed to 'silence' the crowd, as promised by their skipper Pat Cummins a day prior to the mega event, during a press conference.
India have not played an ODI at the venue since November 19, 2023, and the heartbreaking defeat still remains India's last ODI at the venue.
