It was a memorable Champions Trophy campaign for the duo of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, who registered one century each, and were amongst the top run-getters for India, as they ended their campaign with 218 and 188 runs respectively.
"Felt amazing. Most of the time, I was just enjoying Rohit bhai's batting. I think we kept talking to each other and the partnership was important for us. Rohit bhai told me, doesn't matter how many balls you are behind. Just keep batting. Definitely very satisfying. We missed out on winning the trophy in 2023. A surreal feeling. Starting from the England ODI series, winning back-to-back 8 ODIs feels amazing," said Shubman Gill, after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
"New Zealand are a great side. They are good with their plans and they showed that again tonight. Seeing his intensity on the field was great to watch. For him to be able to back his words was phenomenal," he added.
