Ed Sheeran, the British music sensation, wrapped up the India leg of his Mathematics Tour with a concert at Gurgaon's Leisure Valley Park on February 15 (Saturday). During his performance, the Grammy Award-winning singer paid tribute to the Indian cricket team by donning their T20 jersey ahead of India’s campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Interestingly, the Indian team also departed for Dubai on the same day, Saturday, for the ICC event.

While Sheeran initially wore a black t-shirt, he changed into the Team India jersey, captivating thousands present at the Gurgao venue. In a video going viral on social media, Sheeran can be seen wearing a Team India jersey with the number 17 under his own name.

A fan shared a clip from the event on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Give Ed Sheeran his Aadhaar, Pan, and Ration card. Look at him ace the Dream 11 jersey."

Ed Sheeran's Cricket Connection

This isn't the first time the UK-based singer-songwriter has showcased his love for cricket. Last year, Ed Sheeran appeared on the show ‘Breakfast with Champions’, hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, where he engaged in a conversation with India captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The 33-year-old artist also shared that he was a close friend of legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, who passed away three years ago at the age of 52 due to a heart attack.

In fact, just a few days ago, Sheeran won hearts with a touching gesture by wearing a Rajasthan Royals jersey featuring the late Shane Warne’s name on the back. He didn’t just sport the jersey but also picked up a bat, trying a few shots alongside RR players Riyan Parag and Tushar Deshpande.
