Fans Pose Alongside The World Cup Trophy As Cricket Australia Extends 'Holi' Wishes

Cricket Australia extend Holi wishes to all the people celebrating the festival, as fans pose alongside the CWC 2023 trophy in Melbourne.

Cricket Australia extend the wishes of Indian festival Holi to all the people celebrating all over the world, as the apex institution for cricket in Australia allow fans to pose alogside the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy in Melbourne on Friday, March 14.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was won by Australia, where they thrashed India by 6 wickets in their own backyard. A jam-packed Narendra Modi Stadium with blue shirts was silenced by Pat Cummins' men, as they managed to chase down 241 with ease, thanks to a brilliant ton from Travis Head.

Here's What Pat Cummins Said After Winning CWC 2023

"Yeah. That's it. I think we saved our best for the last. A couple of big match players stepped up. We were tossing it up. We were batting first for the most part of the tournament. We thought the wicket would get better as the game progressed. It didn't spin. Everyone adjusted well and bowled nice lines and lengths."

"On a slow wicket like that, there is a variable bounce. A few catches in the leg side and try some luck. They were desperate for sure. It started last week against South Africa. It's an ageing side but we really stepped up. Really chuffed with 240. Anything under 300 would have been nice and would have been good to chase on that wicket."

"Marnus walked in with a cool head. Travis does what he does the best. To take on the bowling in the biggest of stage is incredible. The selectors backed him despite a broken head. Also, the medical team to bring him back and he is an absolute legend and I couldn't be more happier."

"I was happy that it was silence for most part of our bowling. There were a couple of moments when they roared and it was really loud. When you looked up, there were people wearing blue shirts. It was an amazing atmosphere."

"(Message to the group after losing the first two games) You gotta go and win the World Cup. You can't wait for things to happen. We made the change. The openers stepped up and scored at a good rate. The bowlers did a fine job as well. Crazy. This year will be the one that will be remembered for a long time. I spent most of the winter away from home but it is great to get the win."
