Gautam Gambhir Recites ‘Sher’ With Sidhu, Sidesteps ‘Bhangra’ After India’s Champions Trophy Win — WATCH
After India’s Champions Trophy 2025 win, head coach Gautam Gambhir shared a light-hearted moment with Navjot Singh Sidhu, reciting a ‘sher’ in his own style.

Indian cricket team, their fans and supporters were left overjoyed as India clinched the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title on March 9 (Sunday) with a thrilling four-wicket win over Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Notably, the Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir, usually known for his stoic demeanour, couldn't hold back his emotions as he shared a lively exchange with former cricketer-turned-commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu after the match.
Gamhir even cracked a ‘sher’ and also almost broke into a ‘bhangra’ dance after the match.

In a video shared by the official broadcasters of the Champions Trophy 2025, India coach Gautam Gambhir, during a post-match interview with Navjot Singh Sidhu summed up India’s win in Sidhu’s signature style—by reciting a ‘sher’. Gambhir playfully nudged Sidhu to deliver one of his trademark lines, beginning the verse himself while Sidhu completed it.
“Fann kuchalne ka hunar seekhiye janaab… complete the rest,” said Gambhir. Sidhu completed the ‘sher’ saying, “Saanpo ke darr se jungle nahi chhode jaate.”
Sidhu even tried to get Gambhir to join him for a few bhangra steps in the video, but the head coach flatly declined. However, Sidhu and Aakash Chopra eventually got a small move out of him as Gambhir lifted a finger in the air, joining in just enough to accompany Sidhu, who danced to 'Sauda Khara Khara'.

With the Champions Trophy 2025 victory, India claimed their third Champions Trophy crown, becoming the most successful team in the tournament's history. Rohit Sharma & co. successfully chased down a 252-run target in the penultimate over, with Ravindra Jadeja striking the winning runs. Remarkably, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, securing five consecutive wins.
