BCCI Looks To 'Pull Something Off' Towards June End As Cricket Board Mulls Resumption Of Cricketers Training

New Delhi: In what comes as a positive development which leans towards the possibility to resumption of cricketing activities amid the ever persistent COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is quite hopeful and exuded confidence that it will be able to 'pull something off' towards the end of June as the body mulls and chalks out a plan for resumption of players training. "We will shift players to one place when 100 percent confident. For training, NCA has been discussed. We may look for other options as well, we need to keep in mind the state restrictions on travel and monsoon before taking a decision," a source within BCCI told ANI. "We should be able to pull something off towards the end of June. Cricketers are waiting to get back on the field. The coronavirus pandemic has had detrimental effects on the hosting and staging of major sporting events with cancellations and postponments being the usual norm for the past few months. The cancellation of scheduled events, leagues and have less to tectonic losses for both international sporting bodies and federations. The BCCI has indefinitely postponed the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in wake of the threat posed by the lethal COVID-19 crisis. The fate of the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup is also under dark clouds on account foof the widespread of the virus.
