Coaching career

Anil Kumble's coaching career is an interesting one. The Indian legend was appointed as the head coach of Indian cricket team by BCCI in June 2016. The tenure lasted merely one year, but the former Indian cricketer managed to inspire his side to number 1 Test ranking.

Some of these memorable results included the 3-0 win over New Zealand in the Test series, followed by a 4-0 win against England.

India became a force to be reckoned in red-ball format, before Anil Kumble's departure from the side amid a 'reported' breakdown with then-Test skipper, Virat Kohli.
