Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 in their Premier League 2024/25 Matchday 29 fixture, thanks to a stunning header from Mikel Merino. The Spanish midifleder met the corner kick of Martin Odegaard near the first post, and his back-header resulted in a lofted effort over Chelsea keeper Robert Sanches into the far post to give the Gunners a decisive lead in the 20th minute.

The effort proved to be the only goal of the game, as the home side prevailed with a 1-0 win over city-rivals Chelsea, as Mikel Arteta grabs yet another bragging rights in the 'London Derby'.

With the win, Arsenal are now 7 games unbeaten against Chelsea in the Premier League, and are now on 58 points, 4 ahead of third-placed Nottingham Forest. This was the last game for both sides this month, as the international break starts next week.

However, this win still keeps them 12 points adrift off table-toppers Liverpool, and with 9 games to go, their title ambitions are slowly fading away.

If Nottingham Forest fail to overtake Arsenal in the points by the end of the season,  it will mark a third-consecutive season for the Gunners where they finished as runners-up in the league.
