Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Samak Rice Flour or Singhare Ka Atta
  • 0.5 Cup Curd (slightly sour)
  • 1 Teaspoon Green Chilli Paste
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Sendha Namak
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon
  • 2 Teaspoon Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Piece Green Chillies
  • 1 Teaspoon Ghee
  • Curry Leaves

Main Procedure

Step 1

Take a bowl and add samak rice flour or singhare ka atta and curd. Mix it well to form a lump-free batter. Let this batter rest for about 10 minutes.

Step 2

Add green chillie paste, ginger paste, sendha namak, sugar, and lemon juice to the batter. Mix it until it becomes smooth.

Step 3

Add a few drops of water on it before steaming. Mix the batter gently.

Step 4

Grease a dhokla plate or thali with little oil. Pour the batter onto it and spread evenly.

Step 5

Place it in a steamer or pressure cooker. If using pressure cooker, remove the whistle. Leave it on medium heat for about 20 minutes.

Step 6

Till then, prepare tempering using cumin seeds, a few curry leaves, slit green chillies, and little ghee or vrat-safe oil.

Step 7

Once the dhokla has cooled down slightly, cut it into square or diamond shapes.

Step 8

Pour the tempering over the dhokla pieces. Garnish it with chopped coriander.

Step 9

Serve with vrat-friendly green chutney or plain curd.
