Kolkata: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Inaugurates Rs 400-Crore Conch-Shaped Auditorium. In Pics
Dhanadhanyo Auditorium, an indoor facility in Kolkata's Alipore, was inaugurated on Thursday by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. It has been worked at an expense of ₹ 440 crore, as per a tweet posted by Mamata on her official account.

View In AppThe West Bengal government claimed that it is gift for the city in advance of Poila Baisakh, which is Bengali New Year's Day on April 15. In her tweet, Mamata showed sincere appreciation to the state public works office (PWD) for making this fantasy project a reality. This modern marvel is a symbol of progress and development in our state, she said.
The building has six floors and measures 510 feet in length and 210 feet in width, according to a release from the state government.
The assembly hall has two lobbies - one with a greater seating limit of 2,000 individuals and the other one can oblige 540 individuals. There will also be room for hundreds of cars to park, a food court, and a banquet in the auditorium.
In December 2017, construction on the Dhanadhanyo Auditorium began. It was supposed to be finished in 40 months, but COVID-19 caused delays in construction.
The West Bengal Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) has been given responsibility for the Dhanadhanyo Auditorium's maintenance. Additionally, the organisation has invited bids for a number of projects to be carried out there. While she was laying the groundwork for the auditorium, Banerjee gave it a name.
