IND vs ENG Ranchi Test: Shoaib Bashir Becomes 2nd Youngest Overseas Bowler To Pick Five Wickets In India

Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep are the five Indian batters Shoaib Bashir dismissed to complete his maiden First Class five-wicket haul.

Shoaib Bashir, 20 years and 135 days old, is behind Paul Adams (19 years, 323 days) of South Africa in the list. Adams attained this feat in the 1996 Test in Kanpur.

Having made his debut in IND vs ENG Test series, Shoaib Bashir is currently participating in only his second Test match.

Despite his limited experience at the international level, Shoaib Bashir has already managed to secure nine wickets in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series.

Youngest overseas bowlers to claim five wickets in India: 1. Paul Adams - 6/55 vs India in 1996 at the age of 19 years and 323 days, 2. Shoaib Bashir - 5/119 against India in 2024, at 20 years and 135 days old. 3. Rashid Khan - 5/82 against Ireland in 2019 at the age of 20 years and 176 days.
