PM Modi To Launch India's First Water Metro In Kochi On April 25 — IN PICS

PM Modi will dedicate to the nation India’s first Water Metro during his visit to Kerala on April 25.

Water Metro is a unique urban mass transit system with the same experience and ease of travel as that of the conventional metro system.

It is especially important in cities like Kochi. The flagship project was set up at a cost of Rs 1,136.83 crore in the port city.

Officials say, that the Modi government made a conscious choice to avoid a one-size fits all approach in providing infrastructure and connectivity.

The cost-effective and secure journey in air-conditioned boats would help people to reach their respective destinations without being stuck in traffic snarls, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

The first phase of this service will begin from High Court-Vypin terminals to Vyttila-Kakkanad terminals soon.

The Kerala Chief Minister stated that passengers will be able to travel in both Kochi metro and water metro using the “Kochi 1” card. Also, they can book the tickets digitally.
