BJP Freed Tripura From Fear And Violence: PM Modi Addresses Poll Rally In Ambassa

Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Gomati where he will speak at around 3 pm, reported ANI quoting Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress and the Left saying that the alliance hindered Tripura's development for decades but BJP govt brought development in Tripura

"For decades, rule of Congress and Communists hindered the development of Tripura. BJP govt brought development in Tripura. Violence isn't anymore the identity of Tripura. BJP made state free from fear and violence," he said while addressing a poll rally in Ambassa in poll-bound Tripura's Dhalai district.

He said that the alliance had "push back Tripura on every parameter of development" but now Tripura has "double-engine of development".  "Your votes will keep Leftists away from power, ensure continuance of 'double-engine' government in Tripura," he added. "Congress, Left know only how to betray the poor, people suffered due to years of their misgovernance."

PM Modi said that Tripura's identity is no more linked to violence and backwardness and that the Bharatiya Janata Party has "freed the Tripura from violence and backwardness."

"Earlier police stations in Tripura were captured by the CPM cadre but now under BJP rule, there's a rule of law in the state. Now, there's women empowerment in the state and there is an ease of living," he added.

Tripura's economy to benefit from Act East policy, state will become gateway to South East Asia, he added.
