BJP Freed Tripura From Fear And Violence: PM Modi Addresses Poll Rally In Ambassa
Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Gomati where he will speak at around 3 pm, reported ANI quoting Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress and the Left saying that the alliance hindered Tripura's development for decades but BJP govt brought development in Tripura
"For decades, rule of Congress and Communists hindered the development of Tripura. BJP govt brought development in Tripura. Violence isn't anymore the identity of Tripura. BJP made state free from fear and violence," he said while addressing a poll rally in Ambassa in poll-bound Tripura's Dhalai district.
He said that the alliance had "push back Tripura on every parameter of development" but now Tripura has "double-engine of development". "Your votes will keep Leftists away from power, ensure continuance of 'double-engine' government in Tripura," he added. "Congress, Left know only how to betray the poor, people suffered due to years of their misgovernance."

PM Modi said that Tripura's identity is no more linked to violence and backwardness and that the Bharatiya Janata Party has "freed the Tripura from violence and backwardness."
"Earlier police stations in Tripura were captured by the CPM cadre but now under BJP rule, there's a rule of law in the state. Now, there's women empowerment in the state and there is an ease of living," he added.
Tripura's economy to benefit from Act East policy, state will become gateway to South East Asia, he added.

He said to "beware of double-edged sword of Congress, Left as they want to stop welfare schemes." "They created division among tribals whereas BJP reolved the Bru issue."
Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Gomati where he will speak at around 3 pm, reported ANI quoting Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Saha, BJP state incharge Mahesh Sharma and other leaders welcomed Modi in the state. As per the report citing sources from the party, Modi will also visit the state on February 13.

The incumbent party has declared candidates for 55 assembly seats while leaving the remaining five seats for its ally, Indigenous People’s Front Of Tripura (IPFT). The Left-Congress alliance has also announced candidates for all the 60 seats in the state.
Polls to the 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly will be held on February 16, whereas elections in Meghalaya and Nagaland will be held on February 27. The counting of votes for all the three states will be held simultaneously on March 2.
