Plane Crashes In Sea Near Thailand's Hua Hin Airport, 6 Dead: VIDEO

A plane crash in Thailand claimed the lives of all six people on board. The incident occurred when a Royal Thai Police aircraft crashed off Cha AM Beach in Phetchaburi province.

A plane crash in Thailand has killed all 6 people on board. The tragedy occurred when a light aeroplane crashed off the Cha AM Beach in Phetchaburi province on Friday morning, reported Thai news website Bangkok Post.

According to media reports, it was a DHC-6-400 Twin Otter aircraft.

The test flight ended in tragedy when the Royal Thai Police aircraft crashed into the sea near Hua Hin airport. The crash occurred around 8:15 AM. The resort area, known for its peaceful beaches, is close to Hua Hin Airport, also referred to as Bo Fai Airport, roughly eight kilometres north of Hua Hin town in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

According to the 191 Emergency Centre in Thailand, the small police aircraft plunged into the Gulf of Thailand during what was confirmed to be a routine test flight ahead of a scheduled parachute training operation.

Royal Thai Police spokesperson Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong later confirmed the news of the deaths.

The deceased were identified as Pol Col Prathan Khiewkham, Pol Lt Col Panthep Maneewachirangkul, Pol Capt Chaturawong Wattanapaisarn, Pol Lt Thanawat Mekprasert – aircraft engineer, Pol L/Cpl Jeerawat Maksakha – aircraft mechanic, and Pol Sgt Maj Prawat Pholhongsa – aircraft mechanic.

These officers, highly trained and committed, were engaged in vital preparatory work to ensure the safety and effectiveness of upcoming operations, the Bangkok Post reported. The cause of the crash is not known yet and is under investigation.
