Israel Launches Massive Airstrikes On 6 Iranian Airports and Missile Sites, Targets Military Assets Across Region

Israel struck six airports across Iran and missile sites in Kermanshah, destroying aircraft and disrupting air operations to weaken Iran’s military capabilities and gain aerial supremacy.

The Israeli military announced that it launched airstrikes on at least six airports located across western, eastern, and central regions of Iran. According to a post shared on its Hebrew-language X account, Israel claimed that its remotely operated aircraft destroyed 15 Iranian planes and helicopters.

An image included in the post identified Tehran’s Mehrabad, Mashhad, and Dezful airports as some of the locations targeted. The statement added that the strikes hit runways, underground bunkers, a refueling aircraft, and F-14, F-5, and AH-1 jets belonging to the Iranian military.

It also claimed that the operation disrupted takeoffs and hampered Iran's air force capabilities at these sites. In a statement the Israel Defence Forces said that, "The IDF attacked six airports in Iran: remotely manned aircraft destroyed 15 aircraft and fighter helicopters of the Iranian regime.

In the effort to deepen air supremacy in Iran’s sky, the IDF attacked six airports of the Iranian regime in the West, East and Central Iran. Strictly damaged the appearance routes, underground apartments, refueling aircraft, and F-14, F-5 and UH-1 aircraft, belonging to the Iranian regime.

The destroyed aircraft were designed for use against Air Force aircraft and to thwart their attacks in Iran territory. The Air Force disrupted the takeoff capability from these airports and the Iranian Army Air Force operation from them."

In a statement, the military announced that over 15 fighter jets had carried out strikes in the Kermanshah region of western Iran, targeting and "neutralising a number of surface-to-surface missile launch and storage sites aimed toward Israeli territory".

"The IDF continues its efforts to degrade the Iranian Regime's military capabilities and achieve aerial superiority over Iranian airspace in order to protect the State of Israel," the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) stated on Telegram.
