As US President Donald Trump gives his first address to Congress, he and First Lady Melania Trump have invited guests to the address, as is customary. On Tuesday, the White House named roughly a dozen invitees, meant to bring "incredible stories about the disaster wrought by the previous administration and the historic achievements President Trump has already enacted to usher in the Golden Age of America."
The list includes Vice President JD Vance, First Lady Melania Trump, and billionaire Elon Musk, among several others.
Key Figures Invited To Trump's First Address To Congress
Trump’s address is likely to highlight the administration’s push for mass deportations and the passage of an immigration detention bill, known as the Laken Riley Act. The White House has invited the family of Lake Riley to attend the address—her mother, Allyson Phillips, and her sister, Lauren Phillips, from Woodstock, Georgia.
“The Biden administration apprehended and released Laken’s murderer into the country under its reckless open border policies. The very first bill President Trump signed into law this year was named in Laken’s honour,” the release said.
The family of a firefighter killed by a gunman who had shot US President Trump last summer, an American teacher held hostage by the Russian government and the family of a young female nursing student murdered by an illegal immigrant are also among the special guests for President Trump’s first Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday.
“These men, women, and families come from all different walks of life with incredible stories about the disaster wrought by the previous administration, and the historic achievements President Trump has already enacted to usher in the Golden Age of America,” a press statement said
January Littlejohn from Tallahassee, Florida, a mother and parents’ rights advocate who sued the School Board of Leon County after school officials at her daughter’s middle school socially transitioned her daughter to a different sexual identity without January and her husband’s knowledge or permission.
“The school drove a wedge between January’s daughter and her parents, and deceived January about their covert plan to transition her daughter,” it said.

According to NPR, Speaker Johnson has reportedly invited Noa Argamani, who was rescued from Gaza in June and has appealed for a ceasefire at the UN Security Council last week.
The politicians have also invited known figures in conservative media—both the subjects of coverage and some commentators themselves.
