Maharashtra: Gurudwara Takht Shri Hazoor Sahib In Nanded To Donate All Gold Collected Over 50 Years To Build Hospitals

Nanded: Amid the ongoing Covid crisis in the country, every individual, community and governmnet is making efforts to help people fight against the deadly disease. At the time when people across states are struggling with the shortage of beds and oxygen in the hospital Gurudwara Takht Shri Hazoor Sahib of Nanded has announced that it will release all its gold collected over the past five decades for the construction of hospitals and medical institutions. 

Gurudwara Takht Shri Hazoor Sahib, is one of Sikhism's five takhts. As quoted in reports, the gurdwara authorities said that currently people from Nanded have to run to Hyderabad or Mumbai for treatment. The construction of hospital here will help people is saving time and recources. They said that people would have to come from other states to get treatment.

Takht Jathedar Sant Baba Kulwant Singh reportedly said that "the gold we have stored for the last 50 years, we do not have to keep it further. We have to put it into service. It will have to be spent to build a hospital and a school. We have used these gold earlier to make Gurudwara. People will be benefited by having a medical college. Khalsa helps people in their problems."

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has managed to have its positivity rate below 15 percent as the state’s positivity rate on Saturday was reported to be 12 percent. Maharashtra's Covid death toll crossed the 87,000-mark on Saturday even as new infections dropped and remained below the 30,000 level, health officials said. Compared to the peak of 1,263 deaths reported on Friday, the state's fatalities dropped to 682 on Saturday, taking its overall death toll to 87,300, the worst in the country.

The number of fresh cases remained below the 30,000-mark at 26,133, taking the state's Covid tally to 55,53,225 till now.
