Well-Known TV News Anchor Rohit Sardana Passes Away After Heart Attack; Had Contracted Coronavirus

Several journalists including his former colleague from Zee Network, Sudhir Chaudhry tweeted out the information about the sudden demise of his fellow peer.

Well-known TV News anchor and journalist Rohit Sardana passed away on Friday. Rohit Sardana had contracted coronavirus almost a week ago and was undergoing treatment at Metro Hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Sardana's death and said that he will be missed by many.

President Ram Nath Kovind also expressed condolences over Rohit Sardana's untimely demise and said, "The news of the demise of popular news anchor and senior journalist Rohit Sardana is very sad. His untimely demise is a huge loss for the journalism world. My condolences to the family and fans of Shri Sardana."

Several journalists including his former colleague from Zee Network, Sudhir Chaudhry tweeted out the information about the sudden demise of his fellow peer. 

Sardana's current colleague at the TV Today organization also condoled the death of the TV anchor. 

On April 24th, Rohit himself had tweeted out the information that he had contracted the coronavirus. It is reported that he passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack.

Sardana known for his fearless approach and distinct vocal style carried out prime-time TV shows like 'Taal Thok Ke' at Zee Network and 'Dangal' in Aaj Tak. He was also a 2018 Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar Award recipient.

Personalities from different walks of life are pouring their heart out at the sudden demise of the TV anchor.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to Twitter to express the grief. "Pained to learn about Shri Rohit Sardana ji’s untimely demise. In him, the nation has lost a brave journalist who always stood up for unbiased and fair reporting. May God give his family the strength to bear this tragic loss. My deepest condolences to his family and followers," he tweeted out. 

Veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad while expressing grief over the demise called him "a strong and straightforward journalist."

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain offered his deepest condolences and prayed for his family.
