VK Singh on Digvijaya’s remark: ‘Was Rajiv Gandhi's assassination accident or terror incident?’

Union Minister VK Singh lashed out at veteran Congress leader, who took the war of words to another level by linking it to former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi’s assassination.

New Delhi: Amid debate over number of terrorist casualties during Air strikes conducted by Indian Air Force in Balakot region of Pakistan, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh landed himself in a controversy while seeking a response from PM Modi on the ongoing debate. While seeking PM Modi’s response in a string of tweets on Tuesday, Congress leader said “But, after Pulwama accident, the air strikes conducted by our Air Force is being questioned by several foreign media, which is creating question marks on the credibility of Indian government as well”. What seems like a ‘mistake’ or use of ‘wrong words’ was used as an opportunity by BJP to take a jibe at Digvijaya. Speaking on the same, Union Minister VK Singh lashed out at veteran Congress leader, who took the war of words to another level by linking it to former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi’s assassination. Speaking to news agency ANI, VK Singh said “With due respect, I would like to ask Digvijaya Singh Ji, was Rajiv Gandhi's assassination an accident or a terror incident?" This comes a day after Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa held a press briefing distancing the Air Force from the matter saying “It isn’t the responsibility of Air Force to see the number of casualties, but the job of the government.” He further said that “Our job is only to determine the targets and to ensure that we hit our targets”.
