Five individuals, including a woman, were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, forcing her to consume marijuana, and attempting to coerce her into prostitution in Warangal district. The incident came to light after the minor girl went missing on March 11 within the jurisdiction of the Mills Colony police station.
Based on the complaint from the girl's family, a case was registered and a search operation was launched. The girl was later traced and rescued near Mulugu, police said in an official statement, as per PTI.
According to the victim’s statement, she was kidnapped by a group of individuals who forced her to consume marijuana (ganja) and then sexually assaulted her. The accused also allegedly attempted to force her into prostitution.
Plot For Prostitution Racket
Warangal Commissioner of Police, Sunpreet Singh, took swift action by forming three special investigation teams to track down the culprits. The teams worked diligently and managed to apprehend five members of the gang, including a woman believed to be the prime accused. Another juvenile was also taken into custody in connection with the case.
Investigations revealed that the woman was allegedly running a prostitution racket and had conspired with the juvenile to lure young girls and women into the illegal trade. The accused reportedly contacted the victim through a social media platform, gained her trust and lured her out of her home on March 11.
The gang then kidnapped the girl in a car and took her to an abandoned house near Narsampet. There, they forcibly made her consume marijuana and one of the accused sexually assaulted her. The victim was later threatened and abandoned near Mulugu before the accused fled the scene.
Police have identified the woman as the mastermind behind the operation which aimed to exploit vulnerable girls for financial gain.
