Sonia Gandhi On Her Political Career

Recently during her address at the Congress Plenary Session in Raipur, Chhattisgarh she said that her political innings could conclude with the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Addressing the session on its second day, she said, "Our victories in 2004 and 2009 along with the able leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh gave me personal satisfaction but what gratifies me most is that my innings could conclude with the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a turning point for Congress".

She added that strong workers are the strength of the party. "Congress is not just a political party, but there is democracy here," she said.

Sonia Attacks BJP Govt At Centre

Attacking the BJP-led government at the Centre, she said, "This is a challenging time for Congress and the country as a whole. BJP-RSS has captured and subverted every single institution in the country. It has caused economic ruin by favouring a few businessmen."

She said that BJP is fuelling a fire of hatred and is viciously targeting minorities, women, Dalits, and tribals. "We must tackle the BJP regime with vigour, reach out to people and convey our message with clarity," she added.

Speaking before Sonia Gandhi, party President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) tried to stop the session by raiding Congress workers' residences.
