Republic Day 2025: Indonesian Contingent, Military Band March Down Kartavya Path During Parade — WATCH

Indonesian military band and contingent marched down the Kartavya Path on the 76th Republic Day.

On the 76th Republic Day, the chief guest was the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, and as tradition goes, the country's marching contingent and the military band also marched along the Kartavya Path, on Sunday.

It began with a 190-member military band from the country’s Military Academy, "Genderang Suling Canka Lokananta”. With their picture-perfect positioning, the band marched past the saluting base, serving powerful symbol of Indonesian national unity and military prowess. The instruments included snare drums, flutes, tenor drums, and trumpets, some of the members of the marching contingent also were seen wearing tigers, and leopards atop their uniform.

This was followed up by a 152-strong marching contingent from the Indonesian National Armed Forces participating in the grand parade. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) marching contingent showcased Indonesia's unity and strength, with personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force marching together in perfect synchrony.

They were dressed in honour guard uniforms, and the personnel executed precise marching movements, reflecting military readiness and national cohesion.

Their performance embodied the nation's motto, "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" (Unity in Diversity), showcasing Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and dedication to national unity. The contingent's precise movements reflected their meticulous training and demonstrated both military readiness and national cohesion.

These parades, a long-established tradition in the Southeast Asian nation, take place during major events like the country's Independence Day and National Forces anniversaries.

This year’s theme was “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress), highlighting the delicate balance between preserving India’s legacy and fostering its development.
