Jaipur: Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra on Monday sparked a controversy after he said that there are more quarrels in schools that have more number of female staff.

While speaking at an event to celebrate International Girl Child Day in Jaipur, Dotasra also said that women teachers fight a lot among themselves.

"As the chief of my department, I must say whichever school has more women staffers, fights are bound to happen for various reasons," the minister said.

Further in his speech, Dotasra said, "If you correct these small things [mistakes], you will always find yourselves ahead of men."

He also said that the Congress-led government in Rajasthan has always ensured comfort and security of women and gave them preferred postings in jobs.

"We have given preference to women in jobs. People recognise that we have posted maximum women in and around the cities," he added.

Dotasra was lately in the news for wrongdoing in the selection of his two relatives to the state administrative services (RAS). In July this year, it was alleged that the minister was behind the selection of his daughter-in-law and her brother and sister in the RAS exam.

However, Dotasra had said that the exam for selection to the Rajasthan Administrative Services is conducted in a transparent manner and only capable children succeed in it.
