Punjab CM Urges Home Minister Shah To Repeal Farm Laws, Likely To Meet PM Modi On Wednesday
The Punjab Chief Minister’s media advisor said that he urged the Home Minister to intervene to resolve the farmers protest and repeal farm laws to prevent inimical forces from exploiting their anger.
New Delhi: As the farmers’ protests continue unabated, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Tuesday and urged him to repeal the farm laws and break the deadlock.
“Met Home Minister @AmitShah today to once again impress upon urgent need to #RepealFarmLaws and break deadlock with farmers who have rejected these legislations. Sadly hundreds farmers & farm workers have lost their lives in their fight for their rights since the agitation,” he tweeted after the meeting.

The Punjab Chief Minister’s media advisor said that he urged the Home Minister to intervene to resolve the farmers protest and repeal farm laws to prevent inimical forces from exploiting their anger.
He added the Punjab Chief Minister during the meeting cited social, economic and security implications of the prolonged farmers’ agitation.
“Urged Union Home Minister @AmitShah to allot 25 CAPF and anti-drone gadgets for the BSF to effectively tackle enhanced security threat from Pak-based terror groups. Have also apprised him about recent recovery of arms involving heightened drone activity ahead of Aug 15,” he tweeted.
The Chief Minister, who is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, also discussed the security threat ahead of Independence Day and the upcoming Punjab Assembly polls.
