Srinagar: Wanted OGW of JeM of deported from Qatar, arrested by Kulgam Police from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a top over-ground worker (OGW) at Indira Gandhi International Airport after he was deported  from Qatar. The OGW was associated with banned terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).


According to Jammu and Kashmir police, Muneeb Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Kanelwan Bijbehara  was arrested by a team of Kulgam Police from IGI Airport New Delhi this morning after his deportation from Qatar. J&K police said that the name of Muneeb had surfaced during investigations of a case involving a pakistani terrorist, Waleed Bhai in FIR no 58/2020 U/S 13, 18, 19, 38, 39 ULA(P) Act. 


 

During the course of investigations, one of the accused arrested persons had  disclosed that he along with other OGWs were collecting money for JeM from various districts in Kashmir and the money would be handed over to Muneeb Ahmad Sofi.

 

Muneeb, who was in Qatar and was in contact with active terrorist JeM Waleed Bhai of Pakistan for purchase of arms and ammunition from Pakistan. After the disclosure a look out notice was published against Muneeb and a non-bailable warrant u/s 25 Police Act  was obtained from the concerned court.

Consequent to deportation of the accused from Qatar to India, he was apprehended at IGI Airport and is being brought to Kulgam for further questioning and investigation.
