Government Says 138 Terrorists Were Killed In Jammu AND Kashmir In Last Six Months

There had been attempts of infiltration from across the border as many as 176 times between August 2019 to July 2020. Out of the 176 attempts, 111 turned out successful, reported PTI.

New Delhi: News agency PTI reported that around 138 terrorists had been killed by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir this year between March and August. The information was provided in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. 

G Krishna Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home said that the Jammu and Kashmir has been affected by the terrorism. He said that for last moret than three decades, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has been sponsored and supported from across the border.

The Union Minister of State said that the security forces are taking all necessary actions to  counter terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that the government has adopted a zero tolerance policy for terrorism. 

"As a result, 138 terrorists have been neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020. During this period of six months, 50 security force personnel have attained martyrdom in terrorist related incidents and ceasefire violations, cross border firings in Jammu and Kashmir," replied Reddy to a written question. 

According to the report by PTI, there had been attempts of infiltration from across the border as many as 176 times between August 2019 to July 2020. Out of the 176 attempts, 111 turned out successful. 

Recently the terrorists had opened fire at a hospital in SKIMS Hospital in Bemina region of Srinagar, ANI had reported. Last month Srinagar witnessed a series of attacks on non local migrant labourers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in October, three civilians were killed by the terrorists. Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of Bindroo Medicates was one of the civilians killed by the terrorists.
