The video is being widely shared on social media. "A pet dog bites a kid in the lift while the pet owner keeps watching even while the pet owner the kid is in pain! where is the moral code here just cos no one is looking?" a Twitter user Akassh Ashok Gupta wrote while sharing the CCTV footage.

In the viral video, a little boy can be seen standing inside a housing society lift when an older woman walked in with her pet dog on a leash. As the kid moved to the front of the elevator, the dog jumped up and bit the child on his right leg.
Later in the footage, the boy can be seen jumping in pain on one foot. The pet owner, however, kept looking at the boy and did not react.
Soon after the incident came to light, Ghaziabad Police took cognisance of the matter and informed that they have registered a case based on the complaint of the parents.
"In relation to the viral video of a dog biting the child in the presence of its owner in the lift of a society located at Rajnagar Extension on 05.09.22, on the complaint of the father of the child, advance legal action is being taken by registering a case at the police station Nandgram," Ghaziabad Police tweeted in Hindi.

Legal action is being taken against the owner of the pet by the Nandgram police station after boy's father registered a complaint.
