CBI Conducts Raids At 11 Locations In Delhi-NCR, Haryana In Crypto Fraud Case
A major search operation was conducted across two states including Haryana and Delhi NCR as a part of the ongoing cybercrime case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted extensive searches at 11 locations across two states, including nine in Delhi NCR and two in Hisar, Haryana, as part of an ongoing cybercrime investigation. The searches were conducted at nine locations in Delhi and two in Haryana's Hisar on Friday in connection with a two-year-old case, as per PTI. The searches were conducted on February 14.
According to ANI, a chargesheet was filed against three accused under Sections 120B, 420, and 384 of the IPC, along with Section 66D of the IT Act, 2000.
During the searches, CBI uncovered significant incriminating digital evidence and seized six laptops, eight mobile phones, and one iPad. Additionally, officials confiscated Rs 1.08 crore in cash, foreign currency worth $1,000, and 252 grams of gold. The investigation is ongoing, according to CBI officials.
This operation was a follow-up action based on credible intelligence indicating that the suspects, in conspiracy with others, were involved in illegal activities by impersonating government officials and carrying out crypto fraud using computer resources and crypto devices.
According to PTI, a CBI spokesperson said, the accused were found “deceiving individuals in India and abroad by offering fraudulent technical support consultations and dishonestly inducing them to transfer money in the form of cryptocurrency.”

The funds they collected were “subsequently routed through multiple crypto wallets and converted into cash”, the report said.
"During the searches, the CBI uncovered substantial incriminating digital evidence and seized six laptops, eight mobile phones, and one iPad. The investigation also revealed the use of computer programmes to make VoIP-based calls and access the darknet," the agency stated as per the PTI report. Additionally, the CBI seized cash amounting to Rs. 1.08 crore, foreign currency worth USD 1,000, and 252 grams of gold.
The investigation is currently underway.
