Nara Lokesh Elevated As TDP National Working President
TDP appointed Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh as party's National Working President, Dr Byreddy Shabari as first woman National General Secretary.

Andhra Pradesh Minister of Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh announced as Telugu Dasam Party's National Working President. Along with this, TDP appointed MP Dr Byreddy Shabari as first woman National General Secretary, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Rajesh Kilaru were also named, PTI reported.
The newly announced organisational restructuring includes a 29-member Politburo, a 31-member National Committee, and a 185-member State Committee. These bodies have been formed after detailed deliberations, taking into account social, regional, and political balance, with a long-term focus on the 2029 elections and possible constituency reorganisation.
A key highlight of the restructuring is its strong emphasis on social justice and inclusive representation. Out of 185 State Committee members, 122 belong to weaker sections. This includes 77 members from Backward Classes, 25 from Scheduled Castes, 7 from Scheduled Tribes, and 13 from minority communities. In percentage terms, representation stands at 40% BC, 25% SC, 3.8% ST, and 7% minorities, broadly aligned with population proportions to ensure equitable participation, as per reports in ANI.
Women have been given significant representation in the new structure, with 50 women included in the State Committee, along with notable presence in the Politburo and National Committee. This aligns with the party’s broader support for 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.
The restructuring also marks a shift towards strengthening grassroots leadership. For the first time, a Mandal Party President Gantyada Sridevi and Cluster In-charge Guttikonda Dhanunjay have been directly inducted into the Politburo.
The overhaul is widely seen as reflecting the leadership vision of Minister Nara Lokesh. Building on the Kadapa Mahanadu roadmap, he has promoted the idea of “Cadre is the leader,” which has been translated into the new organisational framework, aimed at giving greater recognition and opportunities to grassroots workers.
