The numbers of positive cases continue to surge in several cities and districts with Maharashtra remaining to be the worst-affected. The state has recorded a total of 67655 cases till date. The state capital and several districts have reported more than 10,000 cases.

Mumbai: Going by the data provided by the Union health ministry and National Disaster Management Authority, India's financial capital Mumbai has recorded as many as 4,284 Covid-19 positive cases in past 48 hours (till Sunday). With this, Mumbai is close to reporting 40,000 infections. Not only in terms of positive cases, but Mumbai has also recorded highest fatalities - 1,333 - which is the most deaths among all districts.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu capital Chennai appears to be next in the tally of districts with the highest caseload of coronavirus. Going by the latest updates, the district has 14,800 cases - less than half of Mumbai’s tally - and recorded 132 deaths from the coronavirus disease. In last two days, the district reported over 1400 cases.
Gandhinagar: Gujarat's capital is equally under the stress with continues spike in corona positive cases. The district has reported a total of 12,180 cases. Unfortunately, the state has recorded surge in number of deaths - 842 - which is more than Chennai.
Thane: Near Mumbai is Thane district and is next in the list with as many as 10,488 cases of the coronavirus disease and 227 fatalities.
Pune: As Maharashtra is the worst-hit state, Pune also seems to be affected by the Covid-19 cases as it has recorded nearly 8,560 cases and 348 deaths. In the past 48 hours, the number surged from 6,737 to 8,560.
