Chhorii 2 Review: Nushrratt Bharuccha Starrer Is A Spine-Chilling Sequel That Delivers Genuine Horror

Chhorii 2 review: Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer is a true-blue horror film—it wastes no time getting to the point and maintains a tight pace throughout.

Chhorii 2 review: In a time when horror comedies are flooding the market—thanks to the popularity of films like 'Stree' and 'Munjya'—'Chhorii 2' takes a different route. It doesn't follow the trend of mixing scares with laughs. Instead, it delivers pure horror, atmospheric tension, and solid storytelling. After the success of 'Chhorii' (2021), it was only a matter of time before a sequel arrived—and now it's streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Chhorii 2 plot

'Chhorii 2' picks up with Sakshi (Nushrratt Bharuccha), now a mother, who has killed her husband and in-laws and is raising her daughter in a secluded location. Her daughter, now seven, cannot be exposed to sunlight—but why? The answer lies deep within the film's eerie narrative. The story takes a turn when the child is suddenly abducted, and what unfolds next is a mysterious and unsettling chain of events that uncovers a dark, disturbing truth. Revealing too much would spoil the experience—the film is best watched with minimal plot knowledge for full effect.

What works in Chhorii 2

This is a true-blue horror film—it wastes no time getting to the point and maintains a tight pace throughout. The narrative keeps you engaged with its spine-chilling moments, jump scares, and eerie atmosphere. Some scenes are genuinely disturbing and visually impactful, enough to make you squirm. The story constantly moves, ensuring that you stay glued to the screen. While the climax could have packed a stronger punch, the film overall holds its ground as a solid watch.

Performances

Nushrratt Bharuccha delivers a powerful performance. She breathes life into Sakshi, portraying the emotional and psychological torment of a mother with fierce intensity. Whether she's breaking down in fear or fighting for her daughter, Nushrratt owns every frame. Soha Ali Khan, playing a mysterious caretaker-like figure, surprises in a never-seen-before avatar. Her portrayal is haunting and proves she can excel outside her comfort zone. Young Hardika Sharma, who plays Sakshi’s daughter, is another standout—her performance is natural and compelling. Gashmeer Mahajani also turns in a commendable performance in a supporting role.

Writing and direction

The story, co-written by Vishal Furia and Ajit Jagtap, is focused and effective. Vishal Furia, who also directs, maintains strong control over the narrative and tone. There’s a clear attempt to offer more than just scares—there’s a message woven into the plot, which elevates the storytelling. The only area that falls slightly short is the climax, which could have left a deeper impact.

Final verdict

If you're a fan of horror and appreciated the first 'Chhorii', this sequel won’t disappoint. With impressive performances and a gripping storyline, 'Chhorii 2' is definitely worth a watch.
