'Searching For Inner Peace': Watch Travel Writer Pico Iyer In Conversation With Shashi Tharoor At Ideas Of India 2025

Ideas Of India: The highly anticipated ABP Network Ideas of India Summit 2025 is set to take place on February 21-22 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai. 

The Ideas of India has been known for featuring a wide range of speakers from across different sectors and areas, including leaders from business, politics, culture, AI, sustainability, and environment, among others.

One of the speakers in the two-day event is author, journalist and travel writer Pico Iyer. Iyer will talk on 'The Earth Flame: Searching For Inner Peace', moderated by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.

Iyer is a full-time writer who has published 15 books, translated into 23 languages, on subjects ranging from the Dalai Lama to globalism. His books include long-running sellers such as Video Night in Kathmandu, The Lady and the Monk, The Global Soul, The Open Road and The Art of Stillness. His latest work is 'Learning From Fire'.

Iyer has also written the introductions to more than 70 other books, as well as liner and program notes, a screenplay for Miramax and a libretto. At the same time he has been writing up to 100 articles a year for Time, The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, the Financial Times and more than 250 other periodicals worldwide.

Iyer was born in Oxford, England in 1957. He won a King’s Scholarship to Eton and then a Demyship to Magdalen College, Oxford, where he was awarded a Congratulatory Double First with the highest marks of any English Literature student in the university, as per his website. In 1980 he became a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, where he received a second Master’s degree, and in subsequent years he has received an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters.

The Summit will commence with a Saraswati Vandana by renowned singer and composer Sanjeevani Bhelande, followed by a welcome address by Atideb Sarkar, Chief Editor of ABP Network.
