Papon made his Bollywood debut in 2006 with 'Om Mantra' from the film 'Strings - Bound by Faith'. However, it was the year 2011 song 'Jiyein Kyun' from 'Dum Maro Dum' that became his first major hit. This was the song that gave him a widespread recognition.

Over the years, Papon has received numerous accolades, including the 17th IIFA Awards, Prag Cine Awards, 22nd Screen Awards, 8th Mirchi Music Awards, and many more, solidifying his place as a celebrated artist in the music industry.
