TV actress Disha Vakani, who became a household name after playing the role of 'Dayaben' in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', gave birth a baby girl in November 2017 and is on a maternity break. Ever since then, the makers are trying their level best to convince her to come back in the show but she has not yet given a nod. After waiting for Disha, the makers have decided to replace her. According to latest reports, 'Taarak Mehta..' have approached TV actress Ami Trivedi to replace Disha Vakani as 'Dayaben'. Speaking about the same, Ami Trivedi told the daily that, "No, I have not been approached, but my friends have been telling me that I should take up the role and would suit the character. When asked if she'll accept the role, if approached, she further told TOI that, "It is a huge responsibility and would be difficult for any artist to fill into the big boots of Disha Vakani. I am sure any actor who replaces her would have to face bricks and stones at the beginning because Disha has been associated with Taarak Mehta... for 10 long years and the audience love her. I can't comment on your question till the time I am approached the show. Once the makers offer me the role, I will be in a better position to talk." The show is set to complete eleven years in July this year and it is still fetching great TRPs. Coming back to Ami Trivedi, she is a part of entertainment industry since a long time and has featured in various popular shows like 'Kituu Sab Janti Hai', 'Kumkum - Pyara Sa Bandhan', 'Jaane Kya Baat Hui' among others. She has proved her mettle as an actress and has also played comic roles in shows like 'Khichdi', 'Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo', 'Papad Pol', 'Chidiya Ghar' among others and was last seen in SAB TV's 'Saat Pheron Ki Hera Pherie' last year.
