Gautami Kapoor Clears The Air On Ektaa Kapoor Mimicry Viral Video: 'Not Done With Any Kind Of Vengeance'

Gautami Kapoor has addressed the ongoing chatter about fallout with Ektaa Kapoor, setting the record straight on both the rumours and her much-talked-about video.

Television actor Ram Kapoor’s significant weight loss and a recent social media storm surrounding his wife, actress Gautami Kapoor, have sparked widespread speculation—particularly regarding a possible fallout with TV czarina Ektaa Kapoor. Now, Gautami has addressed the ongoing chatter, setting the record straight on both the rumours and her much-talked-about video.

Gautami on rumours of Ram Kapoor using Ozempic

In a candid conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Gautami responded to the claims suggesting Ram used Ozempic—a popular drug often associated with weight loss—for his transformation. These rumours gained traction after Ektaa Kapoor appeared to take a subtle swipe on Instagram, seemingly questioning the actor’s denial of using the medication. Gautami then posted a video parodying a character many assumed was inspired by Ektaa, fuelling further buzz of a rift.

Speaking on the controversy, Gautami said, “Ram has been alleged of doing many things in the past. That doesn’t make it true. Just because somebody is saying it, doesn’t make those things true. And Ram is the kind of person, if he has done anything, he will say it. He doesn’t hide anything.”

On making a video mimicking Ektaa Kapoor

When asked whether her mimicry video was a response to Ektaa’s indirect comment, Gautami denied any ill intentions behind it. She explained that the video was made purely in jest and had no underlying agenda.

“I have not done this with any kind of vengeance, or any kind of revenge or vested interest. Ye social media ne isko itna hype kar diya hai. Logon ke beech mein ab ye debate chal rahi hai. Maine is attitude se ye kiya hi nahi hai, ki mujhe badla lena hai, ya mujhe kuch vengeance hai kisi ke saath. Aisa kuchh bhi nahi hai,” she clarified.

Sharing that the clip was meant to spread laughter and not stir controversy, she continued, “I have done it in the spirit of fun. I have done it so that when people see it, people laugh at it. Not say that ‘Are they having some rivalry? Is there a fallout?’ There’s nothing like that guys. Everyone needs to chill. It’s not about rivalry all the time. It’s also about fun. It’s a 30 second video, look at it, laugh at it and move on! People are taking it more seriously than me and Ekta, I think.”

Ram Kapoor's reaction to the video

Gautami also shared that the decision to post the video was entirely hers, and Ram Kapoor had no involvement in it. She shared that when Ram returned and saw the buzz it had created, he made it clear he didn’t want to be dragged into the situation.

“When he came back, he was inundated with thousands of messages from all over the world. Then he saw it obviously, and he was like ‘Good for you. Don’t drag me in the middle of this because this is between you, Ekta and social media. Don’t drag me into this,’” she said.
