Mohan Babu Faces Murder Allegations Twenty Years After Sooryavansham Actor Soundarya’s Death

Fresh allegations have emerged over two decades after actress Soundarya’s tragic death in a plane crash, with a complaint now filed against veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu.

Fresh allegations have emerged over two decades after actress Soundarya’s tragic death in a plane crash, with a complaint now filed against veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu. A resident of Khammam, Telangana, has accused him of being involved in a dispute over land ownership with Soundarya before her passing and has claimed that her death was not accidental but a premeditated act.

Complaint against Mohan Babu in connection with Soundarya’s death

According to a copy of the complaint obtained by News18 Kannada, the complainant, identified as Chittimalli, has lodged a case against Mohan Babu, alleging that the actor pressured Soundarya and her brother, Amarnath, to sell six acres of land along with a guesthouse in Jalapally near Shamshabad. Their refusal reportedly led to serious tensions between the two parties.

The complaint further alleges that after Soundarya’s death, Mohan Babu took control of the disputed land by force. Chittimalli has also expressed concerns for his own safety, claiming that he faces threats to his life. He has appealed to the authorities for protection and urged the government to intervene and take over the land. However, no FIR has been filed in the case so far.

Additionally, the complainant has pointed out the ongoing feud between Mohan Babu and his younger son, Manchu Manoj, seeking justice for the latter in his family dispute.

About Soundarya

Soundarya, a celebrated actress from Karnataka, gained widespread popularity through her work in Telugu cinema. She also appeared in Tamil and Kannada films and was recognised for her role in the 1999 Bollywood film ‘Sooryavansham’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan. In 2003, she tied the knot with software engineer Raghu.

Soundarya's death

Tragically, in April 2004, Soundarya and her brother Amarnath were traveling to Karimnagar for a political event when their private aircraft crashed. She was 31 years old and reportedly pregnant at the time. Her body was never recovered from the crash site.

Notably, Soundarya’s last film, Shiva Shankar, co-starring Mohan Babu, was released posthumously. Additionally, her Kannada film Apthamitra, a remake of the Malayalam classic Manichithrathazhu, also hit the screens after her demise.
